Side Projects
When I’m not consulting clients on Google Apps and Web Marketing at Rubis Solutions, I’m probably shuffling around on one of my fun projects. Thus far only 3 have seen the light of day but there are a few more in the hopper…
Agile Photog is the collaborative effort with Allori Photography. After working for nearly a year on a couple initiatives, Eric and I came up with a series of ideas and actions that would be helpful to professional photographers. A work in progress but it’s starting to coming along nicely.
Agile Photog is running on WordPress with the Bueno WooTheme that I tweaked a little. Eric and I are co-writing the content based on his experience as a professional photographer and my technical background.

MyFitHub is a Ruby on Rails application I started quite awhile ago that’s intended for Personal Fitness Trainers, Triathlon, Marathon Coaches. I’m not pure-play coder, so I decided to tackle this idea to learn Ruby and Rails. Nearly two years after I had the original idea, I launched it in limited beta, so there’s a fair amount more behind the scenes that I’ll eventually get around to turning on. Knock it around a bit and let me know what you think…or better yet pass it along to any personal trainers you might know and have them give it a whack.
MyFitHub is on Rails and Joomla over at BlueBoxGroup and I hired an offshore team to do the prototype build. Since then, I’ve made a fair number of changes and as much clean up as I’ve had time to sift through.

I tossed Momtorials.com together on a whim during a trip back home. While my mom was excited to see me she had a laundry list of questions about computer, web, camera, applications etc. etc. etc. Knowing that I couldn’t possibly answer all of them during the few days I was at home I tossed together this site one afternoon and tested it with my mom. She liked the idea…and show’s it off to her co-workers, “Look what Shawn built for me!”. Unfortunately, creating dead simple how-to videos is pretty challenging, so I haven’t been able to keep up with it like I should but it’s fun and my mom gets a kick out of it.
Momtorials is on WordPress with the BlogFlowers theme from FreeCSSThemes.com.
