Training Day: Wk 6 Day 6
Happy Easter! Despite the Friday’s snow storm, it’s beautiful outside today! A little chilly and plenty of slush but its sunny, so time for a run. Today’s Training Goal:
- Run: 1hr (15min in <145 BPM, 45min 145-155BPM)
I’ve been a bit concerned over the past week about my training intensity. My heart rate has been running a bit high on the run and a little low on the bike. Later today I’ll have to take a closer look at my heart rate monitor data (BTW – BPM = beats per minute) and possibly re-zone. Typically, it’s best to determine 4 heart rate zones across all three sports but I was lazy and determined mine based on an average. Slowly realizing that may have been a mistake and may be playing a significant part in my nearly constant post-training fatigue. These first 10 weeks should be ‘easy’ but several of my workouts have been quite challenging. Tomorrow I’ll start perfoming a weekly test to check my resting/max heart rate…this should help dial in the correct zones for each sport without getting a lactate threashold test done.
