While watching Lakers vs. Miami tonight I noticed there are a few “Where Amazing Happens” commercials that I hadn’t seen yet. I still like Where Clutch Happens the best but these are good too.

The video below has to be one of my favorite NBA commercials this season. The interview statements alone wouldn’t have had as much punch but in a mashup there is a certain air of honesty.
And if you’re curious, the commercial that irritates the hell out of me is Barkley’s “Taco Bell it Rocks” riff. If you want it go get it on YouTube…but the one below is a much better use of 30 seconds.

A couple years ago I was bitten by the Ruby on Rails bug. For those of you who don’t know (probably most people reading this), Ruby is a coding language and Rails is a framework (think template). My interest in Rails grew at first out of curiosity and interest in how comparatively easy it was to pickup in comparison to other technology I’ve worked with. Before long I grasped the basic ‘theory’ and ‘concepts’ of Rails to the extent that I could hold my own in general Rails conversations.

Mission Cliffs climbing gym is one of the many reason’s I love San Francisco. I’ve dabbled with climbing since high-school but until recently the logistics of climbing just weren’t in my favor. Oddly enough, Beijing had a decent outdoor climbing wall at Ritan Gong Yun (Park) and a growing expat climbing community. I climbed there for a summer before moving to Shanghai which was sufficient time to plant the seed firmly in my head that it’s a very gratifying sport.
