Training Update
Except for getting sick and missing nearly 9 days of training, my training seems to be coming along nicely. The pool is still a chore that I plan nearly my entire week around it but even my stroke is starting to pan out. The temp’s are starting to rise and with any luck I’ll dust off my bike and hit the road Saturday.Last night I built my training plan for week 11-20…what a chore. It’s hard to imagine how I’ll find time in a few months to train 10-15 hours a week. Right now I’m averaging 8hrs and when considering time to get to the gym, dress, shower, stretch etc. a significant amount of time is dedicated to triathlon training. That said, with the rising temps, training outside will be much more feasible which will make scheduling a lot easier. Except for swimming I’ll probably be outside most of the time which is a relief because I’m really getting tired of the treadmill. One thing is for certain, I have got to figure out my nutrition plan. As it stands, if I’m not eating every 3-4hrs I feel like a cranky 4 year old that has missed his nap. The problem I’m having is a direct result of insufficient planning…running out of groceries by Wednesday doesn’t seem to be helping matters. The sun is out…gotta get my swim-run on!
