Map & Distance for your next workout

The folks over at MapMyFitness are on to something with they’re mash-up tool that allows you to map (via Google maps) your training route. I stumbled across it a few months ago but have only recently started using it.

It’s a great little tool, especially if you’re detouring from your normal training routes or on the road traveling. In another life as a consultant, I traveled constantly and was somewhat apprehensive about running in a new city, so I ended up on the treadmill at the hotel. If you’re a road warrior you’ll know how seedy hotel “gym’s” cab be at times. Just the thought of hitting those cramped stuffy rooms with one treadmill and a crappy bike after a long day on the road is enough to send me to the nearest bar for the evening. That’s not to say that there aren’t some gem’s out there but they’re few and far between.

So the next time you’re on a business trip or just need a different route take a look at mapmyfitness.com
